Midhills Rosin and Turpenes Pvt. Ltd. has a rich legacy rooted in a passion for innovation, resilience, and expertise in the pine industry. Our journey began in 1940 when Lala Jagan Nath Sood moved from Hoshiarpur to Solan, Himachal Pradesh, to establish a trading facility for oleo pine resin.

Over the years, this humble venture evolved into a thriving business. In the 1950s, Lala Jagan Nath set up a small distillation unit to produce phenyle and varnish, catering to local hardware stores across Himachal Pradesh. By the 1970s, our dedication to quality and expertise earned us the moniker “Barojewale,” reflecting our strong pedigree in the pine business.
The next major chapter began in the 1980s when Sudhir Sood, the son of Lala Jagan Nath Sood, expanded the family business by entering the resin extraction trade. Over two decades, he solidified our reputation as a leader in the industry, paving the way for future generations.
In 2010, Sidharth Sood, after completing his engineering degree, built on this legacy by establishing a state-of-the-art resin distillation facility, marking a significant leap in modernizing our processes while preserving the family’s deep-rooted expertise.
In 2022, Sumit Sood joined the business, bringing with him a global perspective and renewed energy. His vision has enabled us to expand beyond domestic markets, establishing a strong presence internationally.

Today, we are proud to be one of the few companies with an integrated pine and pine derivatives manufacturing setup, exporting to more than 10 countries from our base in Solan. With offices in both the UAE and India, and plans to expand into the United States, Midhills Rosin and Turpenes is poised for a bright future as a global leader in the pine industry.
